British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Lagos Following Deadly Road Accident

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, officials in Lagos confirmed on Wednesday night. The 36-year-old was involved in a car accident outside Lagos on December 29th, a devastating event that took the lives of two of his team members.

Healing from Light Wounds

Joshua had been receiving medical attention while healing from his light wounds, representatives stated earlier on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on social media that Joshua was declared medically stable to “recuperate at home”.

“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two deceased friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the official remarked.

Remembering the Victims

The two men who died were identified as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. It was also noted that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and deeply emotional over the tragic loss of his two dear friends.”

The news of his discharge arrives after the sports world had expressed condolences for the fighter in the wake of the heartbreaking incident.
