Colts Battle Falcons in Berlin – Week 10 NFL Action

Guten tag, football enthusiasts. Wie gehts? Alles klar I hope on this excellent morning kickoff to the tenth week coming straight outta Germany. The Olympiastadion in Berlin to be exact where at 9:30 AM EST and 2:30 PM GMT the powerful Colts (7-2) face off against the Falcons (three wins and five losses). This marks the fifth matchup played on German soil and the initial in the nation’s capital.

Pre-match Key Moments

When it comes to glittering attire that is an real standout from the Olympic figure skater on the opening flip. A slight fluff from Sky Sports there as we hear “who won the toss?” from the commentator with an accidentally live microphone.

Well, the coin toss went to Indianapolis and have elected to receive. The Colts' offense will be taking the field soon. Will the QB bounce back after a rough one in their last game?

In a similar vein the vocalist performing the US national anthem has some of the largest shoulder pads you are ever likely to see. The fashion picks are impressive today. The game is about to start after a choral number for the German anthem. Elegant.

Opening Period Gameplay

Scoreless at 13:30 in the first

Here we go! And we have early drama after Jonathan Taylor catches a screen pass, gains 15 yards on the outside to the right then fumbles … only for his center to save his bacon with the ball retrieval. Indianapolis quickly moves into Atlanta's half.

Colts 0-0 Falcons 10:51, 1st quarter

And the drama keeps coming as the Indianapolis attempts a fourth-down conversion. The gamble fails to pay off as Josh Downs cannot reel in a quick pass from the quarterback. On the play before the turnover on downs the Falcons defender put a massive tackle on tight end Mo Alie-Cox. The Falcons have come out fighting on defense as they attempt to end their three-game losing streak. Next up Sauce Garner’s debut!

Score Recap

TOUCHDOWN! Colts 6-0 Falcons 8:36, 1st quarter

Was that a missed touchdown by Kyle Pitts? The Falcons player makes a crucial error, he was very open but the ball just slips through his grasp. That moment reflects the first round pick’s career to date.

So far, so disappointing but it only deteriorates for the Atlanta as they cough the ball back to the Colts on the 23-yard line. Michael Penix Jr is hunted down and fumbles the football.

A nifty 22-yard run from Ashton Dulin sets the running back up to easily run for a touchdown on the following play. Kicker Michael Badgley misses the point after attempt. Mistake.

TOUCHDOWN! Colts 6-7 Falcons 6:07, 1st quarter

The quarterback recovers from the turnover by marching his Falcons down the field for a score of their own. The wide receiver makes some chunky receptions to put them in the red zone then the defense opens up for Tyler Allgeier to run untouched into the end zone through the middle of the defense for a 13-yard gain. He completes the drive for a short scoring run of his own. The Falcons take the lead.

Additional Week 10 Matchups

Additionally, the full slate starting at 12pm CST/1pm EST/6pm GMT (with home teams first) is as follows:

  • (5-4) Carolina Panthers v Saints (1-8)

  • (5-3) Bears v New York Giants (2-7)

  • (3-5) Texans v Jacksonville Jaguars (5-3)

  • (4-4) Minnesota Vikings v Ravens (3-5)

An exciting lineup. I’m planting my flag on Minnesota and Baltimore playing out the game of the day.
