Nearly 90 Flights Linked to Jeffrey Epstein Allegedly Came to or from British Airfields
A review has found that close to 90 flights linked to the late financier Jeffrey Epstein are said to have landed at and took off from UK airports, with some allegedly having onboard women from the UK who claim they were exploited by the found guilty sex offender.
Aviation Records Uncover Pattern of Travel
The flight logs were part of a trove of legal papers and papers released by the estate of Jeffrey Epstein that have been disclosed over the last year. The analysis identified 87 aircraft movements connected to Epstein – featuring many that were previously unknown – arriving or departing from UK airports between the start of the 1990s and 2018.
Onboard Individuals and After Guilty Verdict Flights
Unnamed “females” were listed among the travelers flying to and from the UK. Crucially, 15 of these flights involving the UK happened subsequent to Epstein’s 2008 conviction for soliciting sex from a minor.
“This is ‘astonishing’ that there had never been a ‘full-scale UK investigation’ into his activities in the country,” stated US lawyers representing hundreds of Epstein victims.
British Victims and Court Cases
Evidence from one of the UK-based survivors was instrumental in convicting Epstein’s accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell of sex trafficking of minors in the US in 2021. But, that individual has not received any contact by UK authorities, as stated by her attorney based in Florida.
In a response, the the Met stated they had “not been provided with any new evidence that would support restarting the probe.” They added, “Should fresh and pertinent evidence be brought to our attention, encompassing any resulting from the disclosure of material in the US, we will evaluate it.”
Continuing Document Release and Judicial Decisions
A bill to release all files held by the American government in regarding Epstein passed the US Congress last month. The US justice department has until 19 December to comply. Hundreds of thousands of documents are expected to be made public.
Separately, a federal judge ruled last week that the DOJ could disclose investigative materials from a sex-trafficking case against Maxwell, Epstein’s close friend, who is serving a 20-year prison sentence over the allegations.
