Two Men Face Charges Over Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Incident
Two individuals are now facing charges in connection with a luggage theft where a suspected pepper spray resulted in harm at London's Heathrow Airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two robbery charges and two counts of using a harmful chemical, as confirmed by court officials.
The charges follow an probe of an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on the weekend. Before the assault occurred, two women were robbed of their suitcases stolen after exiting a car park lift, according to law enforcement.
A young child was caught up in the incident during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and were subsequently released.
The incident – which authorities stated was a standalone event and not considered a terror-related act – resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the main airport road tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a limited duration.
